  • The Act also provides for limitations. The following persons cannot be appointed as a prosecutor: a person in respect of whom a conviction for an intentionally committed criminal offence has entered into force; a person who has been released from the public service for a disciplinary offence; a person who has been disbarred from the Estonian Bar Association or expelled from the notarial profession; a person closely related by blood (parent, brother, sister, child) or by marriage (spouse, spouse's parent, brother, sister, child) to the prosecutor to whom he or she is directly subordinate or a person who due to his or her state of health is unable to work as a prosecutor.
